COMMITMENTS FOR THE PLANET

Founded in 1974, Methode Physiodermie has been offering its clientele individually tailored skincare expertise,
through Research and Development on formulations aiming at improving the quality of skin
using natural ingredients and plant extracts.

As such, we strive to improve quality of life and confidence of our clientele, but also to all stakeholders including our staff,
distributors and to all individuals that trust Methode Physiodermie.

For decades, skin therapists have been using our skincare to perform treatments on a daily basis,
thus safety and naturality is of paramount importance for their health, but also the impact of our activity on the planet,
that is why all contributions to limit environment footprint is fundamental.

FOCUS ON NATURAL INGREDIENTS

Not only are they effective, but natural ingredients are sustainable: sustainability means taking into account social, environmental and economical aspects throughout the whole production chain of a product to ensure an altogether positive impact. Therefore, by choosing preferably ingredients of natural origin, Methode Physiodermie limits the environmental footprint, avoiding synthetic materials and choosing renewable sources.  In particular, Switzerland offers a wide variety of plants with amazing properties for skin.  All products from skincare collection Clinical Swiss Organics, certified organic by Ecocert Greenlife according to COSMOS standards, contain at least 95% of natural origin ingredients.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

Our Geneva-based factory is exclusively using hydraulic energy, a renewable energy that harnesses the movement of water converted into electricity by a hydroelectric plant. Hydropower has one of the lowest carbon footprints of all energy types.

SOURCE SUSTAINABLY

Organic farming eliminates the use of synthetic fertilizers and has multiple advantages for the environment: no pesticides, more healthy soils, fewer greenhouse gas emissions. At least 20%* of ingredients of collection Physiodermie Clinical Swiss Organics contain ingredients from organic farming (*10% for rinsed products).

PRODUCE RESPONSIBLY

Our Geneva-based Laboratoire only use mild cleaning detergents approved by ECOCERT.
We sort waste and have them recycled or valorized possible.

We also measure, year after year, our carbon footprint by analyzing the following parameters: amount of electricity consumed,
amount of waste generated, number of pages printed. Landfills being banned in Switzerland since year 2000,
we hereby guarantee that none of our production waste end-up in landfills.

In 2022 :
1320kg of waste were recycled.
30% decrease of electricity consumption to produce 1Kg vs 2019, thanks to optimization of production.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION IS A KEY FOCUS FOR METHODE PHYSIODERMIE

Switzerland ranked third most sustainable country in the world (1). With more than 1500 crystal-clear lakes and 1800 glaciers, we are conscious that an efficient use of resources in our daily habits can impact significantly our ecological footprint.

In the cosmetic industry, reducing the environmental footprint must be tackled both at the production facility and through greener design of product, formula and packaging. We are closely working with suppliers to identify more sustainable packaging and ingredients, sourced locally whenever possible.

For each new product, a study to minimize the impact of the product is conducted at the time of creation. It includes choice of raw materials, packaging, suppliers, manufacturing and filling methods, cleaning, etc.

CARBON OFFSET

Since the beginning of 2021, the C02 emissions of all orders consignments within Switzerland, both e-commerce and B2B, have been offset. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is responsible for about two-thirds of the total energy imbalance that is causing Earth’s temperature to rise.

DEMATERIALIZATION: ZERO PAPER GOAL

Cutting down the use of energy and consumables, particularly paper, seems crucial to us. In 2019, Methode Physiodermie has initiated a policy of rational dematerialization across all our activities, including circulating documents by electronic means and virtualizing our computer servers.

E-TRAINING

As a brand that exclusively serves skincare professionals, Methode Physiodermie delivers complete training on protocols and products to ensure optimal usage and understanding of our brand. In 2020, Methode Physiodermie has introduced “Physio-Coaching”, digital remote trainings that address specific topics ranging from skin conditions to ingredients highlights to help skincare professionals in their daily practice.
